Another photo from Jackie Sutherland of Perth, this shows the Wire Works which occupied 849-851 High Road as it was in 1926. Left to right are George GIGGENS, Mr GREENWOOD, the proprietor, his grandson, and Jackie’s grandfather, then aged about 17.

The building has been demolished and is now D. W. Timber Supplies’ yard. A fragment of one of the arched windows remains, attached to the building on the right, which now houses MENCAP’s charity shop and the Venus Health Club and Sauna (don’t ask!).
