Mors Reginae Elizabeth 23 March 1602

Upon Thurseday, being the fower and twenteth day of Marche, one thowsand six hundred and two, the last day of that yeare of oure lord 1602, as aforesaid, according to the computation of the church of England, King James of Scotland was proclaimed King of England bie the King of Herauldes, Sr Robert Cecill principall Secretarie to the Queens majestie deceased, reading the tennor of the proclamation unto the said King of Herauldes, beginning at the Court to proclame him, and at Charing Cross, and so all alongest from thence to the crosse in Chepeside, where the proclamacon was pronunced againe. All the Previe Councellers & Nobility of England standing bie & accompanying the proclamacon through London, and so into the Tower of London.
